Do I need any race experience?
No. Just the need for speed and the desire to learn how to drive at speed on one of America’s great road courses.
Do I have to drive a standard transmission?
Yes, you must be able to drive a standard to drive the Formula Cars.
How FAST will I go?
Real Fast! Every student and track is different, but we encourage you to drive the cars near race speeds. At some of the tracks with longer straights our cars have been clocked at over 150mph.
Do I have to follow a pace car?
NO!! We are one of the only driving experiences that do not require you to follow a pace car. We will get you ready to go on pit road, check your radio and assign you to a spotter. The spotter will take you from pit road onto the racetrack and coach you thru your time on the racetrack. You’ll find the spotter very helpful in taking you thru your time on track.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, we provide everything. You should dress comfortably with a T-shirt that will fit under the driving suit and sneakers. (NO BOOTS) Friends and family, cameras and video cameras are encouraged. Sun glasses are recommended.
Do I need a reservation?
Yes, all driving programs are scheduled in advance. Rides can be purchased at the racetrack.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 18 yrs old and have a valid driver’s license to drive and passengers for ride-alongs must be 14 yrs old or older.
Do you offer photography or video?
Yes, we offer in-car videos and professional digital photography to remember your day at the track. There is an additional charge for these options.
What if it rains?
We will make every effort to get your experience in however if not each participant will be given the option to reschedule on a new track date or be issued a rain certificate to be used within 1 year from the date it was issued. Sorry, refunds are not available. For participants traveling long distances to attend our events we strongly suggest booking refundable or flexible travel arrangements. Rusty Wallace Racing Experience will not refund costs for travel or accommodation in the event of a cancellation or cancellation due to inclement weather.
What if I wreck?
You are responsible for your health insurance. You are financially responsible for all damage caused to the car due to driver error. A Vehicle Protection Plan is available for $60.00. If you purchase this plan the maximum repair cost you would be required to pay is $1000. All payments for damages must be paid at the track at the time of the incident. Due to the quality of the training and cars, damage is rare. Drive participants may opt to purchase the Vehicle Protection Plan in advance, or at the track the day of your event.
What if I can’t make it?
Please be aware that we have a limited amount of dates at each location. Times are filled on a first come, first serve basis. We will do our best to accomodate your scheduling preference. If you need to re-schedule a booked experience outside of 30 days of your event, you may do so free of charge. In the event you need to re-schedule your experience within 30 days of your event date a re-scheduling fee will apply. The Fee will be equal to half of your package value. The one exception is for a documented medical situation which prohibits the customer from participating in the racing experience.
NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON.
Your racing experience ticket is fully transferable, assignable and sellable. The ticket is NON-REFUNDABLE and generally can not be refunded; however, exceptions may be available under the following circumstances:
1)Physician documented inablility to participate in a racing experience for a period of 1 year or more.
2)An event cancellation for any reason other than inclement weather.
3)If you are active military and your service prevents you from participating.
4)Death of the participant or immediate family member.
5)Cancellation of order within 24 hours or next business day. (please note the $4.75 booking fee is not refundable and a $15 CC processing fee will be applied)
